How does licensing work?
Download and run Inwardis with Docker. Get a trial key via email or buy a license. Enter the license key in Admin > License. That's it — no activation servers, no phone-home, no internet required after setup.
A paid license file never expires. It is validated offline against a key built into the product, so the installation you run today keeps working whatever happens to us, to your network, or to your subscription.
What happens if my subscription lapses?
Nothing happens to your installation. Your license does not expire, so the version you are running keeps working — fully editable, all features on, indefinitely. What you lose is access to new versions, until you subscribe again.
Trial keys are the exception: a trial is time-limited by design, and when it ends the application drops to read-only until a license is entered. Your data is preserved and stays viewable and exportable either way.
Where does my data live?
On your infrastructure. Inwardis is fully self-hosted via Docker. Your model never leaves your network. We never see it, store it, or have access to it — there is no telemetry and no phone-home, not even for licensing.
How do I get updates?
New releases appear on your personal download link — the one
from your license email — for as long as your subscription is active; that is what
the subscription pays for, and everything you were ever entitled to stays
re-downloadable there. Download the newer bundle, docker load it,
and restart. Nothing in the product checks; the gate is on our download endpoint.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time; annual subscriptions run to the end of the year you paid for. No refunds for partial periods.
Cancelling never takes the software away from you. You keep the version you have and everything you modelled in it; you simply stop receiving new releases.
Is there a free tier?
We offer a 30-day free trial with all features. There is no permanent free tier. After the trial, you need a license to continue editing.
Can AI agents really write to my model?
Yes — that is the point. The MCP server exposes 55 tools covering both reading and writing: create elements and relations, reparent them, curate views, lay out and render, import and export. An agent works through the same rules the canvas does, so it cannot write a model a person could not have drawn.
It is your endpoint on your server, and every agent authenticates with a scoped API key you issue and can revoke. Every call is rate-limited and written to the audit log.
